Season Wrap-Up

Well… after my first season online with Concept2, I figured it was time to take a second and take stock of what I’ve learned and what I’ve accomplished.

The first thing I learned was that I am a very determined person and I do a pretty good job of setting and reaching goals. I have not set a single goal this season that was easy, but I accomplished all of them. The two biggest were my first full marathon:

Proof of Charles' first Full Marathon!

Second was to reach 1 million meters:

Along the way I set little goals, starting with the really small goal of GOING TO THE GYM! My Concept2 journey this year started in October, and I got a LogCard right away to keep up with my meters and use it as way to track my progress.

The second thing I learned was that there are so many great people out there who want to teach you, learn from you, help you, support you and so on. As far as support goes, I don’t know that I’ve found a better group than the #c2tweetcrew. This group came out of nowhere to be some of the biggest motivators around. We all lean on each other, and in the end that makes us stronger. As we move forward, this site will continue to evolve to suit the needs of the group and the rowing community. However, it’s goal will always be to serve the individual rower. My hope is that this site brings people together and everybody continues to gain from it.

So, after all the support from the community and completing a pile of goals this year, it’s time to start setting goals for next year.

Post up the goals that you’ve met this year, or what you’ve learned or accomplished!

Also: Check back later tonight or sometime over the weekend for a BIG update. There are great things coming, and I hope everybody will participate!

Twitter Integration is BACK!

First – Current members will need to contact me about how to get converted to using your Twitter account to access the site, otherwise you can continue to use your username/password that you are using now.

Now, if you are a new member, or are an existing member who wants to switch, here’s what it brings you:
– One-click logon! (This means you don’t have to remember the password/username for the site. But, because it uses OAuth, you don’t have to worry about us having any unauthorized access to your account.)
– Ability to Tweet about stuff going on here without leaving the site.
– Brings your Twitter avatar here automatically.
– Allow people to see your Twitter hover-card from your profile or anywhere you post. (Just like on Twitter, itself)
– Posting a comment? Tweet about it with a simple check-box.

Invite Anyone!

Do you have a friend you’d like to get onto the site? Want it to be super easy to get them here? How about sending them a personal invite?

If you are signed in you can get to the link to send invites through your profile, or through the user-bar at the top of the site. (My Account -> Send Invites -> Invite New Members)

You can customize the message that it includes when it’s sent, or you can use the default message, the choice is your’s!

Check it out and let’s get some fresh blood for the 2011 season!
